The founder
Sven Maes founded SVaaS in 2021, after twenty years as a developer, analyst, lead developer and architect at companies and government organizations. He is the point of contact for every engagement and works on the delivery himself.
His approach is pragmatic: first work out how a system and an organization really function, then choose the simplest solution that removes the problem for good. Architecture and implementation belong together — a plan nobody can carry out is not a plan.
The experience runs from business-critical platforms for the Flemish government to production software in industry, integrations with SAP, and mentoring development teams. Alongside building, a large part of the work is analysis, technical leadership and explaining choices to whoever makes the decision.

Work that is bigger than one person
Larger projects are not done alone. We work inside the client's team as architect, lead developer or developer, depending on what the team needs, and bring in trusted additional developers when a project calls for more hands. Engagements have run from solo work to multi-person delivery teams, staffed to match the work rather than a fixed size. For smaller work, a short line to one person is usually faster and cheaper.
